NewsCribs raise the temperature at LollapaloozaThe Cribs performed an hour long set this afternoon at Lollapalooza when they kicked off the second 'main' stage at Grant Park. Opening with 'Mirrors Kissers', the band pushed their own limits to make it through thanks to the intense heat and a late night after their sold-out show at Empty Bottle. Despite the searing afternoon temperatures, the trio managed to get the thousands in the crowd going with tracks from all three albums including 'Another Number', 'Hey Scenesters' and 'Men's Needs'. Meanwhile, last night's show at Empty Bottle included a preview of a brand new track 'Don't You Wanna Be Relevant'. "It's a little known fact, but I used to live in Chicago" Ryan Jarman told the riotous crowd "It's great to be back" Razorlight to perform intimate New York show Razorlight have been confirmed to perform a special show at New York City's Gramercy Theatre next month. The show at the 700 capacity venue will be the band's only US date this summer, although there are plans afoot for a full US tour in the autumn. In addition to slots at Pinkpop, T In The Park, and the Reading/Leeds festivals, the band will also perform at Al Gore's Live Earth concert in London on July 7. "I'm personally excited that we're going to be a part of the Live Earth show," frontman Johnny Borrell said in a statement. "I went to the cinema to see 'An Inconvenient Truth' with my mates when it was released and I walked out afterwards thinking that I had to do something. When we got the call to join the bill for the London show, it was really a no-brainer." Razorlight play the Gramercy Theatre on May 1. Watch this space for an announcement of the band's forthcoming US tour. |
